JusticePoint provides a diversion program for defendants in Hennepin County charged with misdemeanor and/or gross misdemeanor property charges. Cases are referred by the City Attorneys in Hennepin County for entry into the program. JusticePoint uses the Ohio Risk and Needs Assessment tools to determine supervision level and case planning. Case management services are provided in the community and referrals are made to local providers for substance abuse assessment and treatment. JusticePoint utilizes motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral interventions in their case management services. We also provide oversight of community service and restitution obligations that may be a condition set by the prosecutor in the case. Upon successful completion, JusticePoint recommends dismissal of the charges.
JusticePoint also assists pro se clients with filing expungement petitions. We meet with potential clients to review the case/cases they would like expunged and provide administrative services in serving affidavits and filing the petition.

The JusticePoint Certified Peer Recovery Program engages and encourages peers in alcohol and drug abuse recovery. The staff function as a role model to peers by demonstrating competency in personal recovery and the use of healthy/positive coping/recovery skills. The goal is to promote engagement, self-direction, and recovery skills so the peer can gain independent mastery over their own recovery. The Peer Recovery Specialists work with peers as equals and support participants in the Ramsey County Treatment Courts.
