Case Managers will provide services at various points of contact including the Milwaukee County Circuit Courts, Criminal Justice Facility, House of Corrections and in the community

 RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct in custody interviews to determine if defendant meets admission criteria for electronic monitoring
  • Verify defendants information for the court including address and employment
  • Attaching defendant monitoring devices, explain function and guidelines for electronic monitoring and assist in installation of equipment in their home (if necessary)
  • Developing knowledge and collaborative relationships with various community service providers
  • Establishing plans to meet client needs and monitor participation in mental health and/or AODA treatment
  • Enter defendant information including inclusion and exclusion zone and any other parameters ordered by the court in our database in order to track defendants movements
  • Preparing written reports notifying the court of the client’s status
  • Conducting field visits at the person’s home, employer, or other service providers as scheduled
  • Reviewing court orders for electronic (GPS) monitoring and responding to violations of defendant movement

 SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, or related human service field required
  • Computer literacy including working knowledge and experience of Windows and word processing, as well as data entry experience (Microsoft Word & Access)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • High level of skill in organization and attention to detail and accuracy as well as ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
  • The ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with individuals from diverse economic, racial, and ethnic backgrounds 
  • Fluency in Spanish, spoken and written, is a definite asset
  • Valid Wisconsin driver’s license and automobile with insurance required
  • Pre-employment background check, conducted by the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s department, is required
